To bolster women’s representation in the media, the databases of French and French-speaking women experts Les Expertes – already part of the ENWE network – has announced its second “Forum des Expertes”, taking place on March 5, 2024, in Paris (France).
The event aligns with March’s global recognition as the month dedicated to gender equality, highlighted around International Women’s Day on March 8.
After its inaugural edition in 2017, the one-day event returns as a collective meeting set to drive forward the representation of women in the media. And our team at ENWE – European Network for Women Excellence is looking forward to participating to present its network and initiatives.
Purpose and Impact
Les Expertes, extending its influence across mainland France, French overseas territories, and over 80 countries, regularly hears its members’ aspirations to meet, share experiences, and connect with journalists. This forum serves as a unique platform for such interactions, offering training opportunities and fostering a network of empowered women.
About Les Expertes
Tired of being systematically told “There are no women experts!”, Marie-Françoise Colombani and Chekeba Hachemi created the first paper version of the Guide des expertes in 2012. In 2015, under the impetus of the Egaé group and in partnership with Radio France and France Télévision, the guide went digital and the expertes.fr website was launched.
Les Expertes is the first free, 100% digital directory of French and French-speaking women experts. The project offers a unique database of women researchers, company directors, presidents of associations and heads of institutions, accessible to all media professionals in just a few clicks.
Today, more than 6,750 women experts are listed in the directory, 12,000 journalists are accredited, and more than 30,000 hits are recorded every month. The project is financially supported by 13 media or media groups.
