EU to promote gender equality in research and development programme Horizon Europe

Horizon Europe is the 7-year European Union scientific research initiative, introduced to follow the current Horizon 2020 programme. The European Commission drafted and approved a plan for the Horizon Europe to raise EU science spending levels by 50% over the years 2021-2027.

Excellence and impact are still the main criteria for evaluating proposals, but for those with the same score, gender balance between researchers and staff mentioned in the proposal could become decisive.
