Italy still has a gender gap problem

In Europe, Italy is the last country when it comes to women occupation: the gender gap in retributions is still very real, and women keep on shouldering domestic work.
The European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) every year reviews progress towards gender equality in the European Union and all member states. The data published for 2020 show progress, but very slow. “It would take sixty years at the current rate to achieve full equality between men and women,” an EIGE press release points out.
